Oakettes Dance Profiles
The Oak Hills Oakettes are a highly trained dance and drill team that was originally formed in 1958/59 to support and promote school spirit. They now participate on the team "year-round" in two seasons - football and competition. The Oakettes are made up of girls in grades 10-12.

During football season (August-October), the Oakettes perform routines and march with the band. They learn routines with various props and march with the band during the halftime show at both home and away football games. They also are featured during a song at halftime where they are known for their precise and beautiful kickline!

Competition season (November-April) brings hard work and fun together as the team travels to various high schools to compete in line shows - including jazz, pom, kick and hip-hop. The girls practice long hours to make sure every routine is perfected. During competition season they are also performing at halftime at boys' and girls' basketball games at the high school as well as other community events and appearances.

The Oak Hills Oakettes are known for their white knee high socks, tams and cunningham plaid uniforms. The team is also known for its precision, discipline and class. Many alumni keep in contact through the years and continue to support the organization - in fact, tradition brings them back at Homecoming to perform the Highlander fight song with the current year's team!
